Pokeee.eth on Sweeping 69 DeGods & Using Them For Tinder Matches

A true ape, Pokeee.eth (@pokeepandaa) swept 69 DeGods using Magic Eden's sweeper tool and told many women about it on Tinder in hopes of a match. None of them really cared but we’re all still really happy for the ~$900k he spent on his new jpegs.

Intro

A BAYC holder by the name of Pokeee.eth posted a video of him sweeping 69 DeGods on Magic Eden live on Twitter. The purchase of these NFTs cost him 38,045.4559 SOL total, or around ~$900,000. The floor of DeGods before this purchase was around 450 SOL but shot up to around 490 SOL just with this one sweep. The video itself went viral with around 4000 likes and 400,000 views in less than a day.

For those who might not know, Magic Eden has had a sweeper tool for awhile. Here's how it works: you just slide the toggle at the collection page and sweep to your heart's content. You can also turn on auto-swap so if there's a situation where someone is buying or sweeping NFTs at the same time as you, you can always swap to get the next best NFT. This ensures you're always going to end up with the number of NFTs you wanted to sweep originally!

Here's the Magic Eden sweeper tool in action:

Funnily enough, before this purchase, the sweepor contacted our Chief Degen Officer ChartFuMonkey on Twitter to request for a raise in the total amount of NFTs able to be sweeped with our sweep function from 50 to 69 stating it was “of ultimate inconvenience”. Within an hour, our engineers were on it and changed the limit for Pokeee. The mad man had the power he requested and with it, he executed his master sweep.

And of course, with this sweep came the obligatory staple celebrations of the DeGods clan: the Shooeys. Here is a chain of the top videos submitted by their community less than 12 hours after the original tweet.

With his newfound power of being the owner of 69 DeGods, the man did what any other person with this much power and testosterone would’ve done. He took his spoils of war to Tinder in attempts to land a date.

Here are his top 5 attempts at a match followed by some questions we asked him about post sweep love life.

1. Immediate Despair

2. A Rare One Liner

3. High Standards & No Time Wasted

4. Shooting Your Shot Even In The Face of Adversity

5. No One Said Mainstream Adoption Would Be Easy

As we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. The women, tinder matches, fame and fortune came at the BAYC holder incredibly quickly. As we saw, his unmatched perspicacity and undying human spirit was tested heavily as he faired the deep, unforgiving waters that a holder of 69 DeGods faces. So, in attempts to gain some wisdom from Pokeee.eth, we asked him some questions about his journey.

Why did you sweep 69 DeGods?

DeGods has the greatest community and culture in the entire NFT space.

Why 69? Why such an uncommon number?

It was more about portfolio weight. The number ended close to 73 initially and wanted a fun number.

What are you going to do with these DeGods?

It depends on how the asset grows. I'm looking at a long term hold and trade in and out of the asset during my free time.

Are you going to bridge them over to ETH or keep them on SOL?

Yes, my purpose of this investment is actually to have them bridged to ETH. Due to on-chain risks, I wasn’t able to deploy larger portions of my portfolio into Solana. I was having fun in Solana on smaller nfts and mints back then.

Who is Pokeee.eth? Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m in Web 3 full time. I run a private fund where we manage only our own money. This means we employ a group of professionals to deal in all areas crypto. We mainly specialize in DeFi/Liquidity providing on pools/Staking/algo-trading.

Have you swept other collections before? If so, which one(s) and why?

I got a bag of Balloonsville. It was once the greatest rug in the history of Solana NFTS. I’ve also seen how a big community come together and they are working hard for what they want to achieve. I do have an entire portfolio of ETH NFTS too.

How have you personally been handling your newfound fame?

I've been on my phone for 24 hours replying to tweets. Tinder is not working out at the moment. They often back out after I try to get them to buy some DeGods. 😂 Money wise, it’s not newfound but a hard grind in the Web 3 space so I’d expect to still be savvy and stay humble 🙏

Conclusion

So, another historic DeGods sweep under their belt by yet another newly converted, die hard DeGods holder. This one however, done with the excitement behind their collection’s move to ETH. Is y00ts primed for a sweep in anticipation to their move to Polygon as well or will DeGods have all the fun? We’re not even a month into 2023 and with their cross chain move planned for Q1, we still a lot of time left to tell. We look forward to supporting both collections as a cross chain platform on Solana, Polygon, and Ethereum.
